Residential Program

What is the Teaching Family Model?

The Teaching Family Model represents an organized approach to providing humane, effective, and individualized services that are trauma-informed and are satisfactory to clients and consumers. It is cost-effective and replicable. It is also considered an evidence-based practice.

“When I first came here, I thought it was going to be one of the worse experiences of my life. So far away from home in the mountains, but it was nothing like that. It was a warm welcoming environment that always pushed you to do your best. From the owners down to the staff, they ensured each day was a safe and loving experience. Fridays were your outing day for your hard work. Whether it was bowling, the movies, or even a concert, it was never a moment you would forget. Gift of Hope is a place where you understand the people really care about your future successes.”

 -Lawrence T.-

“Gift of hope was literally the best thing that ever happened to me! Although some of the accommodations may be temporary, these good-hearted people eventually turned into family. They’ve told me lessons that’ll last me a lifetime. By removing me from my comfort zone and placing me where I needed to be to achieve in life. I'm forever grateful and thankful. The experience was life-changing, but with all the emotional and moral support they have to offer, I've grown to be a better person, A Better Me! Gift of Hope has by far stood up to the name. They gave people like me hope. I will forever love them for that!”
