Vocational Program

In an effort to continue to provide the best services to meet the developmental needs of the adolescents and young adults in our Group Homes and Independent Living Program, Gift of Hope has partnered with Total Action Against Poverty (TAP) to develop our residents’ vocational skills and enhance the workforce in our community. The vocational program consists of 15 hours a week of onsite training in various employment settings and will last for approximately 8 to 10 weeks. Residents will undergo an assessment process designed to identify each resident’s strengths, interests, ability to manage time, and evaluate personal weaknesses as they relate to the work environment. A case manager through TAP will be assigned to each resident participant to provide weekly evaluations regarding progress and to identify additional areas of need and support. Residents must be enrolled at Gift of Hope for a minimum of 90 days and be between the ages of 16 to 21 to be eligible for the vocational program.
